NORTH COUNTY SHOWCASES SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – The Arc of San Diego’s North County Training Center is holding an Arc Awareness Night on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1221 Ridge Road in Vista.  This is an opportunity for The Arc of San Diego to open its doors to the public and provide information about quality, comprehensive programs for community members. This event will be open to the community from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be provided.

This event will feature tours of the facility, a resource fair and formal program.
The Arc of San Diego provides more than 35,400 service hours to people with disabilities each year in North County.

The Arc of San Diego is the largest, most comprehensive provider of services to people with disabilities in San Diego County. The organization was founded in 1951 by parents concerned about the lack of services for children with developmental disabilities. It has since grown to seven major centers, twelve group homes, and one respite house. Arc directly impacts the lives of more than 2,500 people with disabilities throughout San Diego County.

For more information on Arc Awareness Night or the programs available through The Arc of San Diego’s North County Training Center please contact Laura Orcutt at (760) 726- 2250 or by email at lorcutt@arc-sd.com.
